SoulReaver911
Are there any other errors while running FOMM, errors that critically ruin your gaming experience? If so, you might want to go ahead and reinstall. The "check for updates" button, as far as I have been able to gather, updates the in program BOSS list, which you can download separately, since this is giving you some hassle. http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/10193 This would nullify you having to use the "check for updates" button. And if you want to check for FOMM updates, you can check its webpage. http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/640 Sorry if this isn't the answer you were looking for. SeirZ
I heard that FOMM isnt that fond of Fallout being in a Program folder or some such. Apparently reinstalling steam [if you have steam] to your "C:\Games" or such may help. I jus used NMM. Everythings worked like a charm so far. (After I figured out what the hell load order was) Also Unchecking "check for more fomod versions" and some other things in the settings may help too
SoulReaver911
I'm not sure whether it's FOMM that has trouble with the Fallout install folder being in /program files or if it's archive invalidation invalidated. Since these two programs are so interconnected these days, I agree with SeirZ, it is best to install somewhere else. I thought I would just add that you can move your install without too much trouble. You don't even have to reinstall it. If you're using steam, this can easily be done like so : https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7418-YUBN-8129
