Companion mod problem

Hi there...

 

I removed the 'OnCombatEnd' script (resetHealth, etc...) and implemented a 'GameMode' script that heals your companion slowly while not in combat, depending on his endurance stat. Also, the companion will be set to 'essential' whenever he is the actual follower (companion.hired = 1). The problem: It seems as if essential NPC do autoheal after combat the same way it is scripted for non-essential follower NPCs in vanilla Fallout.

Trying to 'cheat death' with a temporary 'setEssential' or a 'resurrect' (play_anim flagged) didn't work (for me).

 

Does anybody here know, how to prevent essential NPCs from autohealing themselves?
