If any background check were to be done, it would've been the author's modding history within the Nexus since that is the most easily accessible information to get ahold of.In fact, Macintroll says above that they did exactly that: "When he asked to join in, we checked all his nexus mods first and everything was top quality." At this point, I really have to wonder... if Old World Blues had been a DLC-sized mod that just came out instead of an actual DLC releasing contemporary to the game, would its dev team have been subjected to this kind of outcry? Would people have done deep-dives into the unrelated personal lives of developers over Dr. Dala's teddy-bear/male-genitalia obsessions? And what if they actually found something utterly unrelated to the mod, but unsavory or even disgusting, in doing so? Would they explode it all over the Internet and get the press involved in reporting on it? Personally, I'm now convinced the answer to that question would have to be "yes".
