Trust me, we all started off sucking at the GECK and not really knowing what we were doing. It just takes practice and time to get better. You're much more likely to get the mod you want, and to get help making it, if you instead attempt to make it yourself and then just ask questions when you get stuck or confused about something. They get a copy of the GECK and start figuring out how to change that mod to suit their personal taste - then realize they can actually make a mod themselves.
