I encountered a bug while greeting certain NPCs usually from other mods but sometimes even base NPCs who may or may not have been modified.

This bug is a conflict with Real Time Settler and an uncountable amount of other mods.

It takes the form of a Greeting.

When you encounter an NPC who is talkable it will sometimes pop up with the text:

"I've heard of you!! You're that kid Three-Dog keeps talking about!"

Normaly this lined is reserved for NPCs that RTS generates and also NPCs that you force dialog with who otherwise wouldn't haven't any dialog.

The bug kicks in when it switches the dialog of an NPC with this text when it shouldn't be doing so.

For example:

In the Rat Trap Remastered mod there are two NPCs which can become followers if you so choose. The bug stops you from interacting with them properly.

In Existence 2.0 the radio mod, there is a communicator which enables you to speak to an NPC, and again the bug disallows you to do so.

THE FIX:

Requirments:

1: You must already have the RTS NW - Dialog Fix.esp, which unfortunately only fixes part of the problem with this mod's dialog options.

2: You must have FO3 EDIT.

Steps

1: Before opening FO3 edit, a common practice is to use Master Restore if you've master updated your mods, so go ahead and do so.

2: Open the program and make sure that at least both the RTS NW.esm and the RTS NW - Dialog Fix.esp are both selected in you load order when starting up FO3edit. (loading the other mod's files are unecessary, but you can do so if you want.)

3: When it is finished loading, you can now edit the RTS NW.esm file by locating it on the left and clicking on the plus sign to open up it's file tree.

4: Locate the header Dialog Topic

5: open its file tree and locate GREETING

6: again open this file tree and you wil find 5 files embedded within

7: Delete BOTH references with the label "I've heard of you!! You're that kid Three-Dog keeps talking about!" by right clicking and using the remove command.

8: You can now exit the program. Make sure that you SAVE the file as it is closing. (It will already have it checked for you in the dialog box that pops up as you exit.)

9: You can update your Merged Patch if you wish, but it is unecessary. Make sure to Master Update and also check to see if your load order is correct.

In game, you will now find that this dialog comes up only when it is appropiate, thanks to the RTS NW - Dialog Fix.esp and your efforts.
