Frontier: Instant freeze at Abernathy camp outside of Crusaders base

Hey everyone. Understand not everyone has played this mod or gotten to this point, but maybe people with similar experiences in FNV can help. Basically, its during a quest where you get paint and come back to giant shootout outside the base.

 

THE ISSUE: My game hasn't frozen/crashed in all of the 25+ hours I've played on this mod and despite that when i simply fast travel or walk from a distance to the Abernathy camp during the scripted fight tis instant freeze, no CTD and i have to control/alt/delete to even escape the screen. below is a link to a picture i took of the moment it froze. also load order below. thanks guys!

A "freeze" generally means the game or underlying operating system has encountered an instruction that is waiting for another process to respond with how to proceed. This is often waiting on a signal that it has retrieved a file such as the next "cell" contents (purely as an example. There can be any of a number of other things like waiting for a sound to finish playing). Often this is the consequence of exhausting memory. So the first thing to try is "cold booting" (power off, wait at least 10 seconds before power on again) after the "hang" occurs instead of killing the process and immediately restarting the game without a reboot, in order to "flush" memory.

 

If that does not let you proceed (it hangs in the same place, meaning it is "reproduceable") then it is most likely a programming error and something to report to the development team.

 

* If you have more than one mod that makes any change to the same record or set of records in the vanilla game, then you really need to use a "Merge Patch File" with that collection of mods. Please see the 'Third Rule: The Rule of One' and 'Merge Patch File' sections of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article. When in doubt, create a "Merge Patch" file for your overall "load order" anyway. If you add, remove, or change the sequence of plugins in your "load order", don't forget to rebuild the "merge patch" file again.
