DahMurkiness1992
For some reason when I launch NV it doesn't say "Fallout: The Frontier". Also, after downloading the Frontier GSM file and its components into Mod Organizer worked - but I can't locate the directories I installed with it. Why is none of this simple? Even watched a Youtube guy give me all the steps, somehow it didn't thoroughly translate.
dubiousintent
"Frontier" is an alternate "worldspace" to the Mojave. As such it is going to be a series of data files installed into the same game "Data" folder as the original FNV. Did you make the Frontier files "active" in your mod manager? Reporting "symptoms" of a problem is only the beginning of the troubleshooting process. Please provide ALL the information requested in the wiki "How to ask for help" article. Don't forget to identify things that do not appear in the "load order", such as the version of Windows, if you are using a "Steam" or "GOG" and/or "regional language version" of the game (even if you are playing it in English); using the FNV4GB Patch, NVSE and it's related plugins; replacements for textures (specifically their larger image sizes: 1024x1024, etc.), animations, or "bodies", etc.; and "post-processors" like ENB or SweetFX. It saves us playing "20 questions" and gets you a more specific answer more quickly. (The usual turn-around on post and reply in an older game forum is 24 hours.) Screenshots of the "load order" don't usually work so well because they tend to cut off or fail to display needed information and are hard to "piece together" into a complete and coherent picture.* See "How to markup images (etc) in forum posts and comments" article for how to use "Spoiler tags", etc. "LOOT" already includes those tags in the "load order" it copies to your clipboard, so you can just paste it's list into your post.-Dubious-
DahMurkiness1992
Yeah man, I did, all the mods. I am reinstalling it now to start over the process. However, the 7Z file which activates it was nowhere visible when I downloaded the Master Builder. It just had the Frontier.esm file"Frontier" is an alternate "worldspace" to the Mojave. DahMurkiness1992
So after countless reinstallations, none of the mods are conflicting with another finally. I assumed this meant the Frontier loading screen would come back and reappear. It still isn't present in front the BoS member's face. What the hell will it take for this to work again correctly? It takes 7 years to mod this game and they still didn't thoroughly bug check anything that would cause natural mod conflicts over and over? DahMurkiness1992
You said 24 hours, it's been a week bro lol, so give me some leniency as I've been hella patient.
dubiousintent
Your last post (10 Feb) indicated you were reinstalling, and we were expecting to hear the results of that. Without new information, we have no reason to say anything so we have been waiting on you. I don't have "The Frontier" mod, so I can't provide more than general troubleshooting support. But the absence of the loading screen notice about the mod indicates something did not install correctly (which you obviously recognize). But your terminology suggests you do not have a firm grasp of the different elements which make up installing a mod. The 7Z file is an "archive package" file containing files related to the mod. (I suppose it is possible the mod can be written to access the archive file and retrieve resources from it as needed, but that would be "unusual" behavior.) Typically such "archives" are "unpacked" after downloading into loose files in the expected sub folders under "Data" by a mod manager. That you see the ESM file suggests this has already happened, but nothing prevents you from unpacking manually as well. I don't use MO myself, but as I understand it manually installed files are typically placed in the "Overwrite" folder. Read the MO documentation if you are not sure. (Links are available under the 'Mod Managers' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article.) Did you enable the mod plugin in your MO profile "load order"? This is not done automatically. Do you have all the required prerequisites, such as xNVSE? (The mods listed under the "Mods requiring this file" section are not required for the Frontier, but instead require the Frontier mod to work correctly. They should not be installed until you have the basic Frontier mod working correctly.) You might try the mod "FNV Diagnostics" which will report on missing prereqs and errors. -Dubious- Edited February 17, 2021 by dubiousintent
DahMurkiness1992
I enabled all required mods and plugins in the list. I even reinstalled New Vegas itself from scratch, then all the mods individually just to make sure nothing was overwritten by accident. Yet, there is still The Frontier menu missing, which I don't get at this point what made it disappear - as I redownloaded it entirely from the site and deleted the older set of files I screwed up on. If I don't have a firm grasp on the terminology, it's cause I'm a gamer, not a programmers. You expect us to know every intricacy. I'm relatively novice at this, but even a monkey could point out basic flaws in how complicated and ridiculously vague this whole process is. If you never played The Frontier, can you refer me to a moderator who has then? Otherwise you're wasting my time.Your last post (10 Feb) indicated you were reinstalling, and we were expecting to hear the results of that.
