MyPoorDeadSeamus
Hello, recently, I've been looking at some HUD modifications, stuff like oHud and Project Nevada, which made me want to do some similar stuff with a mod of my own that I'm working on. Unfortunately this is when I realised that it would not be so simple. I was rather hoping that someone might be kind enough to point me toward the stuff I'd need to learn to add HUD elements and such? I looked around for some tutorials, but to no avail. I'm not totally new to scripting or anything, and I'm pretty willing to learn, so I feel like I've got that going for me! Thanks in advance! Gribbleshnibit8
There aren't really any. Whenever I've made HUD mods I just kind of wing it until it works. Obviously look at the other mods for examples of how to do something specific. As far as how to write the XML files though I've never had much luck. I usually take something that I know works, strip it down to the base framework, and then rebuild the components as I need them. I find it best to start with a very simple and easy to follow file. Any of the stimpak counter mods has a very simple and easy to follow XML. Maybe jazzisparis can answer some questions for you, he's been doing some pretty nifty HUD stuff lately. MyPoorDeadSeamus
Thank you very much for your reply! I'll do as you suggest, and I think I'll try to find some XML tutorials then! :)
