ChewNTobacca
Is it necessary to use the Bethesda.net launcher to load the Creation Kit? I've always been under that impression, but can one simply load it from the executable in the Skyrim (Special Edition) folder? The reason I am asking is because that's how I've always done it, perhaps not knowing better. But I started with custom dialogue scenes, and had to run the CK as administrator (to fix the dll error); the only way to do so that I could figure was to directly run the executable. So that's what I did, and so it made me wonder if it's necessary to use the launcher, or if there's benefits of one way or the other. Thanks,Chew
dylbill
I never use the launcher to load the CK. I have a shortcut on my desktop that loads the .exe directly from the Skyrim Special Edition folder. I'm not sure if there's any benefit from loading in either way. ChewNTobacca
Yea, that's what I thought. Thank you for your reply, as always. Only difference I can see is that the launcher takes a while longer. What about updates though? I have noticed that the launcher updates itself, does the CK do the same? thumbincubation
As far as I know, the CK doesn't update unless you go to the launcher and update it. That being said, I only use the launcher when I want to check for an update. Any other time, I'm just using the exe to launch.
ChewNTobacca
That's what I suspected. Then shame on myself for not realizing sooner. Thanks!
