Is there anyway to install or setup Vortex so it doesn't freak out when I start it up on different computer? AKA make it portable? I've got it and the games it's mods in a 2td ssd external drive that I move between PC and Laptop. Annoying to start it up to change a mod or add one, and it decide to disables the mods I have active.

I don't see any way for that to work.

The Vortex application and Downloads could be on an external SSD. Mod Staging folder could also be there - if the game was there also.

The part that won't work are the Vortex control files, which live in c:/users/{name}/AppData/Roaming/Vortex. Those have to be in synch with the staging folder.

Okay that doable, I already got a program that make symbolic links. So For like Space engineers the game looks for saves on the C drive but the fiies are really on my external. I can do the same for Vortex. Biggest issue will be making sure the drive letters are the same, so mean update a lot of links etc of my Laptop for the new drive letter.
