kennygnu
Specifically one that has less overwhelming spell effects. I routinely blind myself for the duration of casting almost any spell in first person view.https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/47702?tab=descriptionThe above link is to a mod I am using currently, which has updated magic effect textures and it also removes the glowiness of enchanted items, even ones that are from other mods like adding new clothes that the normal no-glow enchantment mod doesn't manage to remove. Some of the spells are less overwhelming, too. I recall before installing Magic VFX Retexture, I genuinely did go blind for the first full second of casting Night Eye on myself, which was quite the paradox. This is mitigated by the mod I'm running, but other spell effects like casting Telekinesis on self is almost blinding in first person view.I was just wondering if there was ever anyone out there who felt the same and wanted less, not more, when it came to spell visual effects. I quite like the updated effects overall, but both in vanilla and in most mods that alter the look of spellcasting, I always felt that the visuals were extremely overdone. Most of the simpler effects like casting a spell to lock a door are not as overdone as some others, but even this one apparently feels a need to shoot out purple textures in five directions all around my character (of course only visible in third person view), not just the direction I'm looking, and this is for a spell that is supposed to be somewhat subtle. At least I feel that way about Open/Lock spells. Those are part of being a sneaky mage, not a mage who flaunts their awesome powers publicly.Anyhow, enough of my rambling. I just though I'd ask around in case anyone did know of some minimalist approaches to spell visual effects and could direct me to such a mod.
