Schauble
Hey all. So i first started playing Oblivion on my parents desk top, but now i'm off to college and i was sure to get a laptop that could run Oblivion as well. But i Really really really don't want to start everything over again.. So does anyone know a way where i could transfer the saved games onto my laptop? Maybe with a flashdrive or something? I have no clue where to look and i've been trying for quite some time now. Reply if you have any ideas at all. Thanks!
Ethre
Go to your My documents folder, and you should see a folder entitled "My Games". Then there will be a folder entitled "Oblivion" within. In the "Saves" folder inside, there are your save games. (relativel path : My Documents/My Games/Oblivion/Saves ) Check them by date for the most recent ones. I'd take a couple if I were you. bben46
You will need all of the mods that go with the saved game also. First, copy the entire data folder, that has your mods and some other stuff. Then copy over the saves from the save game folder. Don't worry about the Oblivion.ini, you will need a new one for the laptop anyway. Now, install Oblivion onto the laptop using the disk. If you have SI and/or KOTN install them also. Now download and install ONLY the latest SI patch from the beth site. don't install the Oblivion patch if you have SI. If you do not have SI then ONLY use the Oblivion patch. Start the game and make a save. That sets up the new Oblivion.ini for your laptop's hardware. Now copy the contents of the data folder that you saved, And the contents of the save game file WITHOUT copying the original Oblivion.ini. That should put you back where you were.
