Smosh Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 One last thing. Have you patched the game? I know of a lot of people having problems with all kinds of mods since the release. Oops, and another. Which ini are you changing?
rbl0k Posted January 21, 2009 Author Posted January 21, 2009 Tried a complete reinstall without patching and edited fallout.ini in My Games/FO3

I'd leave it for a day or two then come back to it. See if a fresh brain can shed any light. You can bet your bottom dollar it'll just be one stupid bloody thing that's missing somewhere!
OMH Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Just wandering, in ArchiveInvalidation have you listed the directories of the new files? It might be worth putting them in.
rbl0k Posted January 22, 2009 Author Posted January 22, 2009 You mean putting them in with textures/...?Yea, i did. in ArchiveValiadtion.ini To Smosh Quote You can bet your bottom dollar it'll just be one stupid bloody thing that's missing somewhere! Im sure you're right. Strange thing is that the ArchiveValidator doesnt recognize the mod-files and GECK give me errors. Best thanks to all – especially smosh – for your tryings.
Marked0n3 Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 i dont know if this has already been mentionded, but make sure you arent using your own ArchiveInvalidation and the FOMM one together, i have no idea wat the effects of doin this would be but im pretty sure the game wouldnt like it.. also theres several utilities out that automatically make an ArchiveInvalidation for you.. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=944 http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=229 again dont use more than one together.
Marked0n3 Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 heres a few screenies of where my files are, just as a reference to see if you have made any mistakes or anything. ignore the F:/ part in the address bar, yours will probably be C:/Program Files/Bethesda Softworks/Fallout 3/Data or something, again try placing the archiveinv.. in either your data or fallout 3 directory, just not both at the same time. and heres a screenie of my actual archiveinvalidation.txt, the spaces are just there so its easier to find a set of textures if i need to delete them.
rbl0k Posted January 22, 2009 Author Posted January 22, 2009 Thanx for youre help, but didnt work.Another Question: In your fallout.ini is the path to archiveinvalidation.inithisSInvalidationFile=ArchiveInvalidation.txt or like thisSInvalidationFile=Data/ArchiveInvalidation.txt The writing with uppercase-Letters for the Pathseems to be equal Textures=textures, right?
Smosh Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 I do know that this mod specifically asks for the ArchiveInvalidation to be in the main Fallout directory. Yours is in the Data folder. SInvalidationFile=ArchiveInvalidation.txt for me
Marked0n3 Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 yeh it only works in the data folder for me, and i used the mod and it worked alrite for me. rbl0k in an earlier post i noticed you said this; No I've only one ArchiveInvalidation in F3-Folder and the .baks from Validator. i dont know what validator u r using but try removing it and get rid of the archiveinvalidation.txt (dont delete just move it to somwhere else) and use this http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=944 (READ THE README) you dont need an archiveinvalidation.txt with this, just put ur files in the correct folders and activate this. it does it all for you but like i said make sure there is no archiveinvalidation.txt anywhere where the game will try and read it. yesterday i got fed up with manually adding lines to the archiveinvalidation.txt so got rid of it and used the thing in the link, SO much easier.
