Progress on the story: The dialogue and missions are still needed to be written, but the ideas are there and the main story is as good as written. Akrid Posted August 20, 2004 Share Posted August 20, 2004 So many have sugested a starwars mod, I think every game that has a forum about it has had some people that want a starwars mod for that game, how about a starwars sims? or starwars madden? :lol: anyway have you seen the bobba fett mod? there are a LOT of starwars geeks out there, I'm uh, kind of one. I think if you put together a beta place links on a starwars site you will get starwars geeks mixing in with us morrowind geeks :P The other option which I thought of was creating one giant invisible door and place it high above the world in the sky. When you rize with your ship to the sky to enter space you will bump on a certain moment on the door. Then mabey this could be done with scripting you will be transported into space (which will be a interior cell). There you will find certain "hyperspace rings" Which shows you a safe route through hyperspace to another planet. You have to fly to the ring and activate it. Then mabey we could add a small cutscene of a Hyperspace tunnel but well see. And you will be transported to the planet (this depends on which hyperspace ring you will take). You want a way to go into outer space? Try using a elevation script, when the ship axis gets to a certain hight it goes to outer space (intieor) Now your ship would be in a bow that is your "sky box" its only visable from inside and gives the impression your in outer space as it's textured with your outer space texture. As for moving ships and veicals innerstellar, air and land, I have no idea, you will need some serious help on that. I know you could have huge balls for planets and when you get so close (by script) you go to the planets surface. Basicly you need a aircraft mod. Building ass loads of models? That snowballs really, are you trying to make the whole starwars universe? get concept art of what types of characters you need and make them a little at a time, thats what modding is all about. And I know your pretty good at moddeling, but you where way off on the size. Let me give you some advise if you really want to do this mod, make seperate planets but don't make them 5 by 6 km, if thats what morrowind is. Think about Doom3, the game seems big but you could fit the whole mars station in vivic. Take advantage of the size of area's, there is plenty of room to build huge maps for planets that people wont be able to exlpore all off in months and still not be as big as morrowind. If you can make a beta with a starship that can somhow fly, wether it be third or first perspective, then I will jump in and help, my mod went s**t anyway, technical error. Otherwise it will be to much to model. One planet is allready very much so we decided to make one planet. After this project we can always think of another planet but don't count on it....well at least I'm not planning on doing another planet after this mod but mabey someone else who is inspired by our mod ^_^ About the starships: well there will be starships in the mod, but you can't fly with them. But there will be no sence for you to have your own starship if you can't fly through outerspace. But there will be vehicles in the mod which you can use.
