hippieXprincess
I'm not usually one to need help with this stuff but I have no idea where I'm going wrong at this point. I've uninstalled my game twice now, done countless repairs, as far as I know all of my mods are up to date. I'm at the point where everything is starting to look the same now though so a fresh pair of eyes would probably do me good for getting this fixed. I know that the Dragon Age mod manager is no longer supported, I don't think that's my issue (i could be wrong though). I have Frosty but I don't use it for DAI, just for MEA, so I've been relying on the mod manager (not the nexus one, the other one from the DAI tools suite) Here's a list of the mods I have, I'll get rid of everything if I have to at this point, I just want to play the damn game  but if I can avoid getting rid of them I'd like to, yanno? Thanks for the help in advance, ofc
apomorph
I apologize if you've already done this, but can you start the game with no mods? If so, try only installing one mod at a time, and then booting the game. Tedious, but you'll find what's breaking where that way. I don't know all of your mods, but I will say hair retextures for the vanilla hair (sk's) + hair mods that have their own textures conflict and cause insta-crashes on boot (at least for me). apomorph
Also, what are the circumstances of the crashes specifically? I am tired and assumed at first you weren't able to even boot the game. But knowing what's making you crash and where would be helpful. Anecdotally, I know many people have had issues with eye texture mods and certain parts of the game. Textures and DLCs also don't always cooperate. I am tired and assumed at first you weren't able to even boot the game. But knowing what's making you crash and where would be helpful. Anecdotally, I know many people have had issues with eye texture mods and certain parts of the game. Textures and DLCs also don't always cooperate. For a while I wasn't able to boot the game at all. I fixed that after uninstalling completely. At this point I'm willing to pitch the eye textures and the hair retex if I have to. Essentially though what ends up happening is I'll be able to start the game, get like two minutes into a new game, and then it'll crash suddenly (no slow downs, nothing like that. just crash out of nowhere). after that point it won't let me open the game at all, not even just to the title screen. I'll try doing the one at a time thing, that was my last resort. I've seen a few other forum posts where people have noted certain mods that were no longer compatible right off the bat, I was hoping for that so I wouldn't have to do things the hard way  thank you for your help and suggestions I really appreciate it!! Dmitrias
you might want to try adding DA:I as an exception your antivirus. i think your hair texture and eye texture should be fine in the main campaign (except there is this one cutscene leading up to skyhold reveal that can end in a white screen if loading certain mods), but other than that, if you're not in a dlc, and you're not using frosty mod manager to load daimod retextures through, then you should be aight.the only thing i'd suggest is that the sk 4k hair retexture and the sk ef ponytail with braids v2 conflict, they both edit the straight hair texture in-game. tho, conflicts for textures and stuff are usually fine except with certain textures like scalp textures which can go blurry when there are conflicts, it just means the edits to the straight texture from one mod will be overriden by the edits to the straight texture from another mod, whichever one has priority, which will be the one that is loaded nearer the bottom of the mods list. you can use the arrows in the mod manager to rearrange priority, ideally you'd want to load the sk ponytail with braids BELOW the 4k hair texture, as otherwise the braid from the ponytail will be missing.
