halley
I've got close to 200,000 bottle caps and can't find anything to spend them on. :( Any suggestions? Thanx
UnholyShadow
Invest in the traveling merchants' shops and use Crazy Wolfgang to repair stuff so you don't have to hunt for it.
halley
The thing is I've already invested in all the traders at Canterbury Commons. I also have all the items and supplies I want or need. In terms of repairs I've got a merchant that does 100% repairs in Springvale. The repairs are quite costly at times but nothing much really compared to the amount of caps I have and the amount of caps I make from selling items I've picked up from the Wasteland. I used to have this problem with Oblivion but then I installed some building mods that had castles and forts that you had to purchase for 100,000 or 250,000 Septims which was cool. Also I had some business mods and a bank. But thanks for the suggestion. :)
grumbler
The way to avoid the excess wealth problem is to roleplay. I am currently playing a Regulator (using the altStart Roleplayers mod, but this isn't necessary) who doesn't loot except in accordance with Regulator rules (which I made up): can take any health/drug type loot, and anything found on bodies with fingers. Can take any energy weapons or ammo or explosives, but cannot use non-energy weapons nor take any ammo not designed for energy weapons (alternatively, you could enforce the rule for small guns, or large guns). Can buy anything, though (eg if you are trading with someone and have more loot than they have caps/weapons/drugs to compensate, can buy ammo types one cannot loot). The exception to the "no loot" rule is that a raider base can be stripped to the bone, as it was all illicit goods and can be confiscated. I also can only kill people with fingers, except in self-defense (pre-emptive self-defense in the case of Deathclaws!) or to rescue captives. I don't follow the main quest at all. It is a fun way to play, and avoids the saturation of the normal game.
