SirLezdain
I've tried and I tried, but I had to face the facts: I suck. So now, I come to you with a cry for help, my request being how do in the hell do I edit a weapon mod? I open up GECK, I select the plugin, I make it active, then when I select it and modify the damage a bit, it won't let me save it, instead telling me there's an error: "MASTERFILE: "Unable to complete operation due to failure renaming temp file. Temp file 'Data\M1911.tes' contains saved data." I have no idea what this means. If someone could tell me in detail how I could solve this dilemma of mine I would be eternally grateful. It's an awesome gun, I just don't think it's powerful enough to justify its use. This is the exact mod in question: http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=

deliverance6
i doubt this will help, but just check if the .esp file is set as "READ ONLY" by selecting it and then going "properties".do the same for you're F3.esm, meshes.bsa and textures.bsa. small chance it might be this but its not likely
CitizenFurin
Instead of editing the existing file, I'd do it like in the very first tutorial for the geck, make a copy of the file (like from within the geck) you want to work on and edit there, after you are done use the new instead of the original one. I am no pro, but that's what I would try first.
