I was reading up on the Fallout story history, played the older games and wanted to see the new and old together to see how well they meshed story wise. Then the thought came to mind,,,, what the heck happened to Skynet at the end of Fallout 2? From what I read, the Chosen One found Skynet at the Serria Army Depot and had the opportunity to make it a body and gain it as a companion. Then at the completion of the game, it is assumed that it contined its goal of gathering data on its way to The Glow; which was a West Tek facility. There was some speculation as to whether or not there were more buildings at the Army Depot that were not explored, since there was a unit building number that the player could see, and that they only went to one building with several floors. Here is the idea:~ New quest involving the Serria Army Depot, The Glow, and the self-aware A.I. Skynet. Who knows...Did Skynet make it to the Glow?If Skynet made it, was there a mainframe big enough to satisfy its memory bank needs? If it didn't make it, will the player be the one to find and help it?DId the radiation die down enough to be safe in the New Vegas timeline? Something new living in The Glow? (If I remember correctly there was a ghoul city not too far from here... did they scavenge the place?)Were there other locations at the Serria Army Depot? Are there other undiscovered experiments there? Did someone get into the biowarfare arsenol there?Does someone gain access to weapons that should remain forgotton under the ashes of the old world? There are enough possibilities for twists and turns, as well as being able to tie into Fallout cannon. The idea to call it Glowing Embers was one because of the location The Glow, because of it still being irratiated; and because of old technology, with potential to set the world aflame again.
