Lurkily
It would be really nice to see a way of disposing of all that loot that didn't break immersion - most mods of the type are basically a box that transmutes loot into gold. (Sometimes it takes a couple days, but that's basically the function.) The closest I've seen is Adura's merchant stands, residing on steam, where you have to pay to set up a merchant stand in various cities, and your experience running it (merchant level) matters, and you can hire someone, or use a thane or spouse to help mind the shop, but at the end of the day it's still a box that transmutes items to gold. I'd like to see a mod that treated a 'player shop' like a real shop. That is, exchange your items for similarly valued items,as if buying and selling, selling down stock over time, rather than all at once, taking more time to sell off items of high value, (as if having trouble finding a buyer,) sometimes losing some money. (as if making the occasional bad deal.) I'd also like to see that store try not to maintain a stock of gold, and instead use that to buy items - Adura does a bit of this, letting you set a stand to trading for certain items based on the city it's in. Still, it's basically transmuting items, rather than providing the illusion of an operational, fluctuating stock. It should only take a few dynamic rules to control this without having to be overly complex or detailed - when it's time to rebuild the stock, try to maintain gold value equivalent to your stock value. Exchange cheaper items for gold more often than expensive items, (the higher-priced the longer the timer,) and use the levelled list to turn gold back into items appropriate to your loot level if it begins overloading on gold. RomanMithman
I like your idea! I would certainly use a mod like this.
