Game crashes after installing mods using Fallout 3 Mod installer.

Hi there, I downloaded the Fallout 3 Mod Installer from this site to decrease the time it takes to install each mod for Fallout 3. I guess the only way to send the mod to the mod installer is by sending it unzipped or in its .rar form.

Anyways, the two mods I have tried so far don't seem to be working. The first one is the Nuka_Cola Qauntum pipboy. I send the archive to the mod installer and I get a message saying

"Selected archive may not structured correctly for installing/uninstalling".

The second mod I am trying to install is the Wasteland_Boss_Pack. This is one mod of several I am going to download separately which is part of a larger mod pack for Fallout 3 that is being displayed on the front page of Fileplanet. I right click the Wasteland_Boss_Pack_V11_2872.rar and click send to Fallout 3 Mod Installer. The file then shows up on the installer and I click install. I get the message saying the archive installed successfully but no archive information is displayed in the panels below.

When I start fallout 3, I load my game and the game will crash before/during the load screen. I open the mod installer and uninstall the mod and my game will load fine. I don't know what the problem is and I'm taking any insight, thanks .

is it my version of the wastelanders boss pack? or the other guys, since theres 2 named similar..

if its mine then it can/does cause crahes on save games over level 16 (really, vulk knows why).

and whats this F3 mod installer?

surely it'd be easier to just get the .rar file, and unpack it yourself to make sure everything goes in the right place

Here's the mod installer with some images.

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2411

I'm Level 20

Yep, this is your mod I believe because your name appears in the Readme document. Is the other version of the wasteland boss pack available for download elsewhere?

For some reason in my Nuka_Cola_Qauntum folder there is a file named archiveinvalidation, I wonder that could be an explanation why the mod wont install using the mod installer. In the read me it says extract folder to Fallout 3 installation folder which I did, but when I enter the game, there is available pipboy skin. Do I need to enable custom content?

if its mine then i can tell you exactally what it'll be.

you've loading a save over lvl 16 (random bug, atm, unfixable)

and

you're running the latest version of the game (latest patch) which chances are will cause some probs with my mods since ni havent updated them since i discoverd there was a new patch

not much help but yeh. it'll be my mod crashing you're game lol 9(try running it on a below lvl 16 save or a new game)

No mods are really working for me period. I haven't used any patches yet. I am using a No-DVD.exe is that why mods aren't working? I still have my original .exe in my other folder in case I need it again. I use a no-DVD.exe because I have so many games on my pc that constantly changing the discs for every game I play would become a bother.

The No-dvd.exe isn't necessary. Just start the game from the Fallout3.exe instead of the FalloutLauncher.exe.

Alternatively, you could use the Fallout Mod Manager, which bypasses the launcher, and is easier to activate mods through.

Thanks, I read about that somewhere. I am most likely going to do a clean reinstall and patch the game along with using the original .EXE. Sometimes a game's DRM can be so screwed up that it crashes the game while starting up, in-game, or quitting the game which happened in a game called GRID for PC until they patched it. Simply replacing the .EXE with the NO-DVD fixed the issues which was a problem that was apparent when Fallout 3 released. I believe the Fallout 3 patch addresses some of the crash issues, although I can't remember if it specifically fixed startup, mid game, and quit game crashes.

Hopefully once I do the clean reinstall of Fallout 3 and patch the game, I can get some of these mods to work. Yesterday, I downloaded the Babes mod from fileplanet, extracted all the folders into data, changed my binvalidation to 1 and created a text file named archiveinvalidation (something like that) and pasted the required information into the text file, yet the mod wasn't working. I don't get why the mod installer said it installed the mod but in game it wasn't working either.
