Purr4me
Ok, what this is about, I have discovered purely by accident and have verified it's not mod related. Two saved games running as test files. and one mod. The mod in question IS remastered, Updated and not distributed, It ; how ever dug this information out from some place on my system. and the only source it can !...come from is the prior saved game I have in the folder. The only other location on a windows 7 OS it can come from is the on-board storage systems, the registry file or back up parts.Bare Bones game raw DLC and bsa archives, no text files, no lose files or folders, no additional bsa's.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------SYSTEM SpecsMS Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit16.0 GB DDR3 @ 665MHz (9-9-9-24)DELL 1707FP (1280x1024@60Hz)Generic Non-PnP Monitor (1024x768@60Hz)AMD Radeon HD 6550D (ASUStek Computer Inc) 38 °F117GB Seagate ST3120213AS ATA Device (SATA) 78 °FWD Virtual CD 1110 USB DeviceRealtek High Definition AudioGame specs:C:\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\Data1.7.0.3Default all GOTY Retail CD/DVDsucurrom removed from the sysemXlive disabler activefomm "fake live .dll activearchiveinvalidate activeloaderder tool "fomm version 0.13.21 and updated fix"--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Shots to show before and after to follow.http://img585.imageshack.us/img585/39/screenshot58he.jpg this shot is with Remastered running on a fresh NEW game from the start, required I had my weapons and armor to get to this point in the game , the tree's are seen here, as well as the water coming out of those pipes....which by all means and purposes should not be there !, ok, here you might say "it's the mod", yeah well, your dead wrong. That's from the other saved game files data as none of these quest stages are present in this game. There are only 2 saved games here, no back ups, no others. and all the stages in the game world appear to have been completed and not, this combination is default new game and completed game combined as one game.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------next, no mods, just fallout 3 and the new game and I even removed my mod from the data folder too.http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/4650/screenshot59ll.jpg8 uGrids away I find this: with or with out Remastered installed.http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/483/modleakage.jpgas you can plainly see here, the game stages are still new and not set / reset, or how ever you wish to call it, Broken steel and main quest stages have not yet even started yet, so how can that be if I can. where is this smoke coming from?http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/5964/modleakage2.jpgburnt particles too, ash fires???? never ever seen that before, like fire fly's, but where? From what? the smoke, from what? Why? That is not in that saved games database, nor my mod, and you know, I have not been able to recreate that type of smoke either from any source in this game, (with particles like this). No mods .this is from , all of it from a downloaded saved game and it's not even this game that's running in, yet it's data is loading .So, all the tech heads need to concentrate on why more-than one saved game data will load, because it is loading both. This I never expected to find, and I am still digging out a ton of other strange things that relate to a lot of posted problems that were once thought BY me and others to be mod related, BUT now! ,I back up and think hard, there is a lot more happening, going on than once realized. Kasumi446
ahh that smoke, thats the part of broken steel, the smoke and ashes will appear if you destroy the citadel, but the smoke and ashes are already there before citadel got destroyed, hmm, probably conflicts, try to uninstall mods and check if which one cause this problem. Purr4me
that did not work, reinstalled the game and it still does that. I tried another mod made for the game, so it say's, but, it was not from the game, to test ,ever-since that took place, I have this strange anomaly going on. Some place on my system other than the game directory , there is the stored data and it's being called up in game. I don't know-where it is, I can restore the OS and it will go bye bye, then I am stuck as to what it was , this type of thing shows up and remains solid ....is a serious item to look into. either the OS is exerting it's influence or the program I used is and I remove that , but the result remains. How on earth can the engine process two saved games at once is the-question. IF not, then where is the information coming from? Mind you, I understand the smoke now is in fact from broken steel, and bits and pieces are from all over the game world. they should not be rendering at all. I caught it and I am not going to let it go. I will not mention the mod I used as it will stir up Drama, I said I would test it, I informed the author. But since it is not from fallout3 but was made specifically for it. that's all I will say. I do not know if it has anything to do with what took place, that is what I am going to determine. I posted the questionnaire as to possible get some feed back from any one that may have run into dual saved game rendering in game. Technically, this should not take place, but is has. and it remains still. yet another new game and this time with fresh new files and that old saved game data is still showing up in the game. all of it. Purr4me
ok ,this is just plain stupid ,NO dlcs, just fallout 3, a new game and this is what there.http://imageshack.us/a/img443/8130/screenshot51t.jpg Edited May 13, 2013 by Purr4me
Purr4me
Just encase no one gets this, that is a slave guard, not my player character. that NPC is from the other saved game and this as you can see is a new game, yet, he is there, and so all the other things as I progressed out into the wasteland are there, the megaton house, player house was fully stocked up with all the elements left from the user that supplied the saved game I downloaded. I did not put it there. The smoke remains, But no quest stages have been started except the megaton sections to gain access to the house. I popped the saved games, 2 of them onto a flash drive, removed this hard drive and placed into the machine a new drive, reinstalled every thing but the geck. popped these two saved games into the folder where they go and ran only my new game file, and low and behold, Mr slave guard is still in there. deleted the copies and started up a brand new game, no other info around. The guy shows up. Now. I get an old march game file, deleted this one, and it does not show any thing of this problem. ok cool. copy that one, switched out the hard drives and placed this new one into the older and it plays normally, so, how is the data getting from one saved game file into another different files-data base? NachoNinjaGnome
I was looking at your profile and found this old thread. Are you in the habit of over-writing saved games? I found, a long time ago playing Fallout 3 and Oblivion on Xbox 360, that if I over-wrote games, rather than saving to an empty slot, that I would have all sorts of random occurrences, including, but not limited to, corrupted save files. Also, having too many save files can confuse the game. I found that when I did not delete the save files of old characters, that I would have more and more issues with each consecutive character I made. I got in the habit of creating new save files and deleting older ones and haven't had a problem since, either on Xbox or PC.
Purr4me
Nope, not in the habit and I used casm as a saved game manager, and these tests were all conceived from a fresh game.Point , look at the pictures. how can you have a slave guard on a fresh game and no saved games in the folder to begin with?.the other shots were conducted as well further on, but this is an old thread. and the problem is very real. what the problem is I found out and have sense updated remastered innards to prevent it. The mod that introduced the bug used data from as you say, an x-box texture and mesh file assembly , was not converted, but recognized as a Viable file, so, it had instruction withing the file, opening up a memory leak in the games flow, The PC is not x-box, but the engine has x-box codes still in it. the patch, 1.7 leave a lot to be desired, it was a sloppy Job. NachoNinjaGnome
Ah, I see. Yeah, didn't even think about the new file scenario, good point. Why must such a great game be SO buggy? -NNG
