anjenthedog
So, for those of you who've installed this mod a) does it take up a lot of animation slots?b) is it worth it? Looks cool on MXR's recent video, but I'm not sure the # of animations will break my game or not. And of course, is it really as game changing as it appears? or do you see FPS losses? 9700K proc. Puny 1060sc 6G Nvidia card, plentiful "harddrive space on both root and elsewhere, 64 G primary memory, if that makes a difference thanks in advance!!! Anselmp
As you help so many others you deserve a reply of some sort. Combat animations are more likely to be ok if you limit your followers, particularly mages, not just to avoid crashes but to be able to see what is happening. Also, if it is not very precise there may be more difficulty in avoiding hitting melee followers who jump in front.Personally, I would avoid such mods. anjenthedog
Thank you for your reply Anselup. I rarely use followers for my primary character anymore (level 63 almost 64), so that shouldn't be an issue (might be for my male which is lagging back at level 31). Yes, I also normally do avoid mods like this but saw a showcase on MXR recently, was moderately interested, and thought I might ask around from those who've used it to see how taxing it is on resources, especially on animation count, since I have quite a few installed already and don't want to push the limit. I'm a ?spell sword? on both of my characters, so casting is usually limited to defensive (healing etc) and the very occasional fire or ice spell. My weapons and armor are all boosted heavily via enchantments and amulets/rings, so I normally have little need for magicks... idk...I guess I'll idle a while longer and see if anyone else responds (especially those who are using it), but thanks for your contribution in any case. 21crescendo
Ehh, I'm having blast. Personally, I've always wanted something like this for the game. The author did a great job by adding variance, heft and flair to each swing, cut & jab. I play a spellsword too, paired with the first person casting animations and they work great together. Animation count would depend squarely on your setup tbh but shouldn't be too bad.

But I'm not sure I understand that last statement. Presumably, the mod adds a certain number of animations to the game. My question really comes down to "how many animations does this mod add?" ie, 10? 100? 2000? (some ballpark value would be helpful to see whether my present game can accommodate it or not) Are you suggesting that I can configure how many animations that the First person combat animations mod adds to the game? thanks again for the reply. bigw0
Using CGO with First Person Animation Overhaul 2.0 and it's amazingly worth it tbh, that combined with Ultimate combat, and some minor other mods I'm using makes the game feel as close as it ever will to meaty melee combat like you have in games like Mordhau.Give it a try, it's totally worth it if you're playing a hyper immersive type of first person experience, couple it with a few Animated Eating Redux and Animations by Malrama alongside IFPV or Enchanced camera(though I heard it breaks with Animated Eating) and you've got Tarkov in skyrim lmao. But it is buggy at times, IDK if I set my nemesis up improperly or something but the animations tend to break at times, but it's solvable by doing 'sexchange' in the console back and forth, so there's that. if that's not a hassle for you I'd recommend that combo, makes the game pretty fun even after my numerous playthroughs, as for FPS and whatnot, I haven't noticed any changes or any CTDs in a LONG time in like six hour sessions so yea. Anselmp
If you don't use followers, that should be fine. I've been packing my game with Anna's NPCs, Interesting NPCs, Citizens of Tamriel and some individual NPCs, which I swap around and put in my various houses. But then I'm the sort of person who reads poetry and novels and so on. There are quests that require one to leave followers at home or simply work better that way (eg Maelstrom). I've lost interest in the fighting for now, so I let the followers do it or use a one hit kill weapon.
