lakitu213
Hello, today i installed the FWE mod, and i can't seem to start a new game. Every time i start one the game crashes somewhere between choosing my sex and naming my character, i installed fallout and the dlc's, then this mod, i have no other mods so it isn't an incompatability issue as far as i can tell. My specs:AMD a10-5800k @ 3.8 ghzRadeon 7660D (it's integrated, but it runs skyrim and new vegas fine)8 gigs ramwindows 7 64 bit I've set bUseThreadedAI to 1 already... Is there anything else i should do or can i just not use this mod?I'll attach a file showing the load order too in case that's part of the problem*edit*I tried a few more things, got past character creation and then it crashed as they were taking me out of the hospital room when everything goes all white for the 2nd time, it froze while it was white. What i did was uncheck the alternative transportation and moved the dlc's to load before the mod Edited April 14, 2013 by lakitu213
NUCLEAR777
Did you download FOSE?
lakitu213
Yes, FOSE is installed and i've been running the game through that, i've also found out hat i can play the game if i load a preexisting save file, so somethings wrong with the birth scene
SoulReaver911
I can't say this is technically causing the problem, but it would be good to get into the habit of loading all .esm files before .esp files. The BOSS auto-sorter can help with load-order, the link is in the description. If you already have FOSE (it is Required, like NUCLEAR777 pointed out) then you might try using FOMM instead to manually make FOMODs which can easily be installed/uninstalled. When I first added FWE to the game, I thought that the two part zip would automatically unzip everything if I just extracted from the first part, but this is not the case. You have to unzip from both parts and merge the files. Don't forget the third zip, the hotfix to 6.03 Might be focusing too much on FWE. Does the game run without the mod? SoulReaver911
No worries. I just wrote a long post describing my favorite way to trouble shoot this game. Here's the link This should be helpful since you're running Windows 7 Edited April 15, 2013 by SoulReaver911
lakitu213
Alright, i did everything in the post and it still freezes, about 2 minutes of being in the game with mods active, and less than a second if mods aren't active*edit*Nevermind, it works now, i had to use the archive invalidater that was built into the FOMM. thanks for all the help! SoulReaver911
Alright, here try this one. Has an outdated directx file that might help, among some other tips Fallout 3 Windows 7 Crash Fix EDIT: Oh wow, can't believe I forgot. Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch fixes a lot of crashing and freezing issues and Fallout Stutter Remover fixes one particular cause of crashes that may be connected to this. Also, it really does help eliminate stutter EDIT2: Alright, i did everything in the post and it still freezes, about 2 minutes of being in the game with mods active, and less than a second if mods aren't active*edit*Nevermind, it works now, i had to use the archive invalidater that was built into the FOMM. thanks for all the help! That is incredible that Archive Invalidation Invalidated fixes a game running no mods. I'll have to remember that for next time. Enjoy!
