neoblood3d
Hello, I have created this thread as a place to dump images and discuss the techniques of creating new models and textures and importing them into Skyrim using Blender3d. :smile:I have thought about doing it for a while but never took the time or had the motivation to do it till I recently started playing Skyrim again and noticed a lot of the bugs that had plagued the game are fixed. A little about myself...I have been modeling, texturing, and animating using Blender3d for around 9 years. I have used 3d for various purposes over the years mostly to animate advertising for trade show displays around Ohio and West Virginia having to do with the Waste Water industry. I try to use only free and open source programs. I do trade shows for money but of course I will do this for fun or till my attention is diverted to something else. :P Comments are welcome both in support and to criticize. I think I will get started on weapons. When I play I love to find unique weapons and I think the game is lacking in this area even with the current selection of weapon mods. #1 - Moro Kris Similar to what is found in this picturehttp://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/ff/Kris_nomenclature.jpg a screenshot of my 5 minute progress to show I am serious  .. http://i.imgur.com/irBZbso.jpg

neoblood3d
Thread closed due to lack of interest. I will continue the project but I will not spend time posting if no-one is really interested :P Seems these forums don't get much traffic anyhow. I should have looked before I assumed there is interest in this stuff my apologies.

And it's not that there's not that many views. people just seem to be a bit more reluctant to actually post something.Besides, it might also be informative for people new to modding. =)

neoblood3d
Ok I will update this post now and then when I get a free moment and check for questions. Firstly I will say again that I am brand new to modding so this is a learning experience for me also. If you have questions about Blender3d I can certainly help you out there but if you have questions relating to modding and integrating them into the game I can't really help you. What I can promise you is that if you have these kinds of questions we will take the time to explore them together and ask the right questions to the right people. I am a 35 year old man that has a job, wife and house and so work on this stuff is strictly for fun and hobby. I do enjoy it a lot though so if I can figure it all out will probably do a lot of things for my favorite game. I've never been short on ideas. Antoine I don't have set dimensions at this point I am just doing basic shape and size for now. This first sword is kind of crude in reality and was probably not the best example to start with as far as technical skill. Should work out pretty good for a first attempt to get something into the game though.I don't know anything about 3ds max. I have worked with it many years ago but have always liked the constantly expanding ideas presented by the Blender3d programmers and the ease of integration of outside rendering engines. At this point I can model most anything of any complexity in minutes with Blender3d and so never felt the need to "upgrade" to a pro package. You are welcome to drop relevant stuff in here if you want though the overall techniques should be similar.
