azura84
oh and I am familiar with BOSS but I tried using it a bit ago and it wasn't recognizing my directory properly.
karios525
Am assuming you mean when downloading a mod? Just click on the files tab and then you'll see the download with manager option, if you mean the NMM itself right at the top of the page Install NMM (0.44.8) As to BOSS you can try two things. First reinstall, delete any skyrim and skyrimprefs in m y documents, run skyrim to create new ini files then run the boss, select skyrim from the options click ok and BOSS should start running. You could try downloading the archived version of BOSS which has helped me in the past when BOSS was playing up. The only other thing which I can think of is where did you install steam and skyrim? If you did so in the default programs folder theres you're problem if running windows 7 or 8 (probably vista too) because of admin right. So either wipe and install or move the folder to a different hard drive (I use a seperate ssd drive for games) or create a new folder on current hard drive and transfer the Skyrim/Steam folder there. Next up wrye bash, you can find on nexus, latest version is 303 I think, when BOSS is installed wrye bash has a little BOSS icon and may be able to find you're directory for boss if still having problems, I also use it to create a bashed patch, essentially it will merge level lists for weapons/armor/items/creatures as a couple of examples..If two mods add helmets to imperials, instead of one mod overwriting the other, the game will now randomly determine which helmet is given, if you have monster mod/immersive creatures they both get incorporated into the vanilla level lists so when you hit a spawn point in skyrim there is just as good a chance of encountering a creature from monster mod as there is immersive creatures and the normal bethesda critters. DFB random encounters (with the new update released last month) well you can alter cooldown times after an encounter is spawned as it creates 200 new spawn points in Skyrim, how long that cooldown lasts, difficulty level of encounters, disable any creature types you dont want to face, and how many, plus you can set to face more than one creature encounter if you want, and as it runs off the vanilla(unmodded skyrim) level lists increases chances of critters from momod and immersive creatures(my favourite as SIC adds stuff from morrowind i.e. golden saints, winged twilights, cliff racers, dwemer spectres and is due to be updated end of week) I assume you are using the latest version of skse which was 1_06_13 skyui which was 3_4? I use TES5Edit for 'cleaning' the update dawnguard and dragonborn esm files but nothing else as if BOSS claims about a mod having dirty edits I post on that mods forum and pm the mod author, plus too many people have broken their mods due to cleaning stuff which they shouldnt so be very careful if you go down that road. Google the engineeringguild (cant give exact web address site rules and all) as that site has some great quest mods incuding a dragonborn one and finally moddb is another great site to check out thats where i get monster mod from as it is banned here on nexus, oh and one more thing (a little shameless promoting) check out http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/34144 (Venator Daemonous Sons Of Tamriel) which a good friend is working on just requires latest version of skse and monster mod (v12 at the moment) whilst I ahve been working on a full history and backstories for all the followers, unlike the old version of this mod which was essentially a monster wars spin off this is standalone and fully stable, providing an entire new faction with full patrols, followers, stories, banners and shields, plus a new dungeon. Anyways hope all this helps a bit, any more questions will be flitting on and offline today as finally day off work so busy writing yet another backstory, hopefully the last for awhile as there is an awful lot more history to write still lol. azura84
Ok so, I'm afraid to load my game now.... mostly because of all the texture updates i found. So I got the Skyrim HD, Project Reality - Climates of Tamriel, Skyrim Redone, static mesh improvments p1&2, and Summer Skyrim HD. I know some of these are going to conflict, so I haven't installed them all, mainly just SkyRe, static mesh improvments and Skyrim HD. In the past the mesh I used the mesh and the skyHD together but i'm not familiar with all of these and how they will perform now.Any suggestions which i should just do away with or if Skyrim HD is even needed with these anymore? karios525
Ok what are you're system specs? How much vram do you have?
karios525
I mainly ask because if you're system is powerful enough texture pack combiner is the way to go as it integrates skyrim hd and serious hd retexture with a lot of smaller mods really enhancing the look of skyrim, and does integrate static mesh improvement admittedly not the latest version, but the author of TPC should be back soon
karios525
Oh I also use skyrim mods complex optimizer (SMCO) which optimizes all dds textures (dont touch the nif meshes) reduces both texture size and loading textures into game without any noticeable change in quality.
