ass you should be able to see that the light is not evenly distributed....what could cause this?

i thought it would be the normal map....but i tried add that and still nothing :/.

-thanks in advance for any and all help-

robinsblade - Hello!

Is that one square mesh or four square's placed together?

As it looks like four repeated textures there.

What mesh did you use to start with?

Normal maps will affect the way light bounces off of a mmesh & are used to add depth & detail to a flat object.

The mesh itself also has lighting normals built into it from it's creation that also affect how light bounces off of the object.

This means objects that start out as one thing & are modified into another can sometimes look strange when light bounces off them.

You can sometimes fix this within nifskope, first make a copy of your mesh as this is NOT reversible & if the results are not good you will need to go back to the backup mesh.

Open Nifskope & right click on your mesh, select "Mesh" - "Face Normals" & save the mesh.

Check it out in GECK or in game to see if it looks better.

You can also go to the top of Nifskope & select - "Spells" - "Batch" - "Update all tangent spaces".

If the results are still wrong than ditch that modified mesh & go back to your back up copy.

If you're trying to make a floor tile, use one of the existing floors & change it's texture to your new one. That's more likely to get good results.

Hope this helps!

thanks for the info.....its 4 squares and its odd because the light is showing up in the same spot for EVERY object.

and i believe it was because of a setting i had on it.....

i believe another area i went wrong was i used a PLANE not a CUBE to start with.

-solved-
