Prologue bug.

Just decided I would play the witcher again, haven't in a while; went through to Chapter 2 without trouble.
But I decided to start again because I missed a couple of things and wanted to do some differently, it didn't take me long to get through Chapter 1, so I thought meh, may as well.

However when I started a new game, right after the opening movie when you fight off the first bandits I notice something is missing... Like four of the characters that are supposed to be there.
So once I've killed off the bandits, Lambert and I just chill out.
We chill out because neither He nor I are the ones that destroy the rubble that blocks our path, and apparently the other guys are out to lunch or something.

Not really a big problem, as what I wanted to do doesn't have any real impact, and I can just continue on from my other save, but it is rather annoying.

And while this may belie my insouciance, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and it continues to happen.
Any help would be appreciated.

Ah, it seems its fixed.
It also seems that the solution was to simply... post this.
I tried several times, before and after Reinstalling the game - But the very next time I try after posting this, everyone has finished lunch and decided to help out.

The only other thing that changed was I deleted a random empty folder that was in F:\Steam\steamapps\common\the witcher enhanced edition\Data.

But I don't see why that would prevent four characters from spawning and the story from progressing

Also it seems that it is Lambert that gets rid of the rubble... Damn him.

Are you 100% sure that folder you deleted was empty? Your Data directory is where mods go, so it sounds like something in that folder was messing things up.

 

In any case, glad it's working now.
