Apology and explanation accepted, with reservations.

 

There is no such thing as a legitimate "non-Steam" version of Skyrim.

Stating that your game cannot be updated to the current version because it is "not Steam" is the same as saying that you have a stolen copy. You may have paid someone for it, but people pay for stolen property all the time. The only legal way to install Skyrim in the first place is via Steam activation, and the only legal way to update it is the same.

 

You (and we) may not like Steam's (or Bethesda's) Terms of Service or EULAs. But our options are either to adhere to them, or not use their products.
