My introduction and a spec question.

My chipset is h61 and my case is rather small. It is the dell inspiron 620s slim case. So you wouldn't recommend calling dell to buy a power supply unit that would fit? Or could I just give my case's dimensions to one of the brands you suggested? I much prefer to shop online.

Ok, your motherboard is fine. However, I've overlooked just how small this case is, no 7850 on the market will fit in it to my knowledge. So, you could either get a 7750 (a low-profile card) and not even need a new PSU or, you could get a cheap case (MSI have an insanely cheap one on sale right now for $5) and move your existing components in to it and get whatever you want. Sorry about that, I had no idea this case would be so small. You can call Dell, but they'll likely just want to sell you whatever they have in stock, rather than whatever your best option may be.

Perfect, that is all the info I really need. Getting a new case is not a problem at all, in fact, I've always wanted one of those cool looking cases with the lights and fancy displays. Transferring the components to a new case is one of the few things I do know about. So it's a new seasonic 500 watt psu, a radeon hd 7870 2 gig, and a fancy new case. I will be all set for my move from consoles.

I do not possess the necessary linguistic skills to properly express my gratitude sir, you have been a tremendous help. Lol Thanks again.

Haha, yeah, mine has blue LEDs on the case fans that light it up. :-P Getting a good case is usually worth it because you can reuse it, even in say 4-5 years when you need to upgrade again, you can just put your new parts in the same case.

Some computer shops will do it for you for a small fee, but it sounds like you've got this one covered. I'd recommend looking up the Newegg "Build a PC" video tutorials on YouTube. The videos are designed for people building brand new PCs from scratch, but they are really well made and should give you a good visual refresher of the process and they cover installing a graphics card and PSU to boot!

Only if you think you need it, of course. If you already know what to do, then you should be good to go.

Sounds really good! I would (and actually have) picked out the same specs for my own PC. I think you're going to really like the finished product. Also, keep in mind that the Xbox 360 controller works great on PC, if you ever miss the console feel.

You're totally welcome. I'm always happy to help when I can.
