yakapo
I'm looking for a mod to change a perk on one of my snipers. I didn't select squad sight and I'm regretting it. Is it difficult to change my perk? If someone can point me in a direction I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
dubiousintent
You want 'this' thread, and the 'ToolBoks' mod. Graaa's modlets in the OP are for all classes in one modlet. I have modlets specific to each class 'here', and organized the perk information differently in an attempt to group similar capabilities together for decisions. Both sets are also included in the 'Custom Mods' folder of ToolBoks. As mentioned in response to your question in another thread, if a Rank has a choice of perks that the character has not already selected, then you get to choose one that will be added in addition to all previously selected perks, for each such Rank, leading to more than 7 perks overall. Noone has developed a modlet to handle removing existing perk selections. So you might want to back up as far as you can stand before you start making changes to minimize that effect. -Dubious-

yakapo
Do I need to install mod patcher before using toolboks?
dubiousintent
No, they are separate and independent tools. The 'Custom Mod' functionality of ToolBoks is designed to eliminate the need for ModPatcher if all you have to change is a single [FIND] and [REPLACE] combination in a single UPK file. What you should keep in mind is that ToolBoks includes a button to update the SHA hash of the game executable file that has been modded so it will run. So you need to run ToolBoks and use that option after any other mods. Hence many of us just opt to run ToolBoks last, but it's not a requirement. Fixing the hash, IS required to get the game to launch. Another tool that similarly fixes the hash is XShape, but I find ToolBoks more convenient. -Dubious-
yakapo
Got it working. I didn't realize you had to go back to the base to enable the perk. I was just loading a saved game in the middle of a battle and expecting the perk to show up. Having two snipers with plasma rifles and squad sight almost throws off the balance of the game. I'm sure it will be much harder when I play on classic mode. Thanks again for helping out a newbie,
