My Fallout 3 Mods will not work....

I can not get the Fallout 3 Mods to work and yes, I am pretty sure I have installed them properly but obviously something is wrong. I searched the boards but didn't find anything useful in helping me...

I rolled everything back and have tried to just get a single mod to work, and no luck with that either. Perhaps somebody here can give me a hand?

Vital Stats:

-Fallout is installed in c:/fallout 3/ and it is using the latest patch.

-The Mod I want to install is called Color Hi-Detailed map and icons

-I have created a c:/fallout 3/archiveinvalidation.txt file with the correct information from the readme.txt file for the mod I wanted to install.

-Check bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 in FALLOUT.INI at c:/fallout 3/

-The files from the zip are installed correctly.

-I took a look at the OPTIONS at launch, but no data sets show up to load.

When I log in, I get nothing for the Map that the Mod said it would do (ie-it isn't working).

WTF am I doing wrong here?

Thanks for any help.

Same issue. Done everything by the book. Got rid of the .txt thing in favor of the archiveinvalidated invalidated prog. I'm beginning to suspect the update is to blame somehow. That it somehow isn't communicating to either the launcher or the fomm any files created before the update. idk. But its depressing.

The way i got the mods to work was to download the ..Underwear_and_eye_retex mod by Yoshikinakota, and used his ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated! bsa....Then in the save folder i opened the FALLOUT cofig setting file i looked for SArchiveList= and typed ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated!bsa, Make sure it's first , you may have to do the same in the fallout prefs file..I hope this helps, good luck

Meh, thanks for the advice dude. I got them to work the other day. I just had screwed up organization of folders is all. Such a simple mistake that it went completely without notice by me until recently.

I'm glad you got it worked out.

Aside from the game version number being different from the version of the game the mod was created with, folder arangement is the most common cause of not having mods work correctly, and it's as you said, it's so easy to overlook it.

I am a jr administer on another site that deals with xbox gamming mods I have a bunch of tutorials on how to convert morrowind GOTYE computer mods to get them to work on the xbox.

I can't count the number of times I had to create and reorder the folders to get the mod to work because the way the people who uploaded the mods for the computer wouldn't work properly due to the folders either not being there and or not in the correct spot.
