joetguy
Hey everyone, hoping to get some help here. I was recently working on my Megaton house mod and I decided to swap out a file cabinet model for a gun cabinet one. I selceted the file cabinet, ctrl-f to swap and selected the new model. In the render window, everything looked good. I then moved the new gun cabinet to a better postition, saved and exited GECK then fired up FO3 to see the results. Imagine my surprise when I get into the house and the gun cabinet is there but not where I moved it too. This is a problem I've faced before: moving an item in GECK only to find it hasn't moved in the actual game world. The stranger part is that at other times I've preformed the exact same action with absolutely no problems. Does anyone have an idea as to why this would happen sometimes but not everytime? Perhaps it's a glitch in GECK or the way FO3 reads altered .esp files? The file cabinet did have items inside in my saved game, could that be a factor? The only "fix" I've found for when this happened before was to unload the mod, save and then reload which as you know is bit of a hassle if you have stored items that you need to pick up and then replace. Surely, there is an easier way.
