My writing style.

The following might become part of the book I'm writing. It's just to check if people like my style. I'm not 100% sure if I want to add it to my book, so the names and events aren't neccesarily what I'm going to use in the book. Just tell me if you like it or not (the style, not the story itself).

 

"Well, you obviously know of the Black Guard?" he enquired.

"Who doesn't?"

"Who doesn't indeed. Well, all of us here are descendants of the original Black Guard, or at least that used to be the criteria for joining,"he looked out across the training teenagers,"It's become almost impossible to prove who is and who isn't, it has after all been 700 years since their time."

"But why are you so few in number?"

"It's because of the trials, not half of those who try make it and many more don't survive the missions they're set afterwards. Personally, I think it's better that way. It ensures that we are comprised of only the toughest, most agile and intelligent individuals. Brings us so much closer to what our ancestors used to be, unlike the mockery who roam the streets today calling themselves the Black Guard."

"And what happens if I fail these trials?"the Prince asked.

"Well, it depends on which one you fail, but in the end it comes down to you dying, either the trial kills you, we kill you, or the city guard does."

I like it, and your style is ok. but woundn't the druids forum be more appropriate since its writting?
