A question about VRAM video card?

For heavens sake, download GPU-Z (or MSI Afterburner, it can show vram usage in-game! And with HWiNFO you can add CPU/RAM/etc. info there too).
Use it to check how much vram you use, if it peaks at 2gb you should check your modlist.

The final solution, after trying everything else, is to buy a new GPU.

This is coming from a guy who managed to break 3gb VRAM usage limit on Skyrim...

Over 110 mods, bad ENB mod-combination and 1080p 3D (HD3D) = 3gb of VRAM used \o/

A GTX 680 4GB de VRAM here in Brazil costs around 1800 reais. Imagine you have to pay 1.800 dollars for a video card?! Imagine that your salary is 677 dollars (minimum) per month. You would take three months collecting some money to buy a video card. If I lived in the U.S., could change the video card in each one week of work. It would be too good. =)

I was just about to pick up a new video card, because my second-hand GTX 460 1gb ain't cutting it with all the added HD textures. Throw a modest ENB on there and it's stutter city.

Thanks for the info in this thread. I had a 680 4gb picked out and it seems like the appropriate choice.

Actually, the game may not stutter when you have 3gb of vram but that doesnt mean that the massive vram usage doesnt affect stability.

I used to get crashes with 3 followers when I had my old ENB-setup (now using RCRN 2.0), the reason seemed to be the silly amount of vram used by the followers.

Enter new area --> follower data not yet in the vram --> followers teleport in with delay ---> 1gb of follower data moves to vram ---> crash 25% of the time.

With going from ENB to RCRN my vram usage dropped significantly (2,5gb --> 1,8gb) and the "crash after entering new zone" are pretty rare now.

EDIT: Most likely the crashes are caused by the RAM copy of VRAM, RAM usage goes over 3gb -- > crash...

If you are using ENB/4K textures/etc. and your vram usage is too high, change your ENB mod (I recommend RCRN).

And I have GB HD7950 windforce OC'd @1200MHz core and 1500MHz vram.

3gb of vram, and its dirty cheap compare to the silly GTX680 4gb...
