SSE Improving Follower behaviour

I'm prepared to make my first mod, because I feel it's necessary and there is no mod currently available that can help.

 

It's a mod to alter the behavior of followers when they are idling.

 

I have had success using Xedit to modify an existing esp file that alters follower behavior (Follower AI Tweaks).

But there are more parameters I would like to modify which are not present in that mod.

 

Specifically I want to eliminate some follower behaviors that occur when I'm standing still.

 

For example, every so often they will start running in a random direction, and sometimes that means running into me and pushing me where I don't want to go.

 

Can anyone give some advice on how I would find the parameters to adjust for this?

Is the simplest way to change them to create my own mod in Creation Kit with esp file, or is there an easier way?
