If someone could please tell me where they hide the old songs that are played on GNR...I am so tired of the same old stuff.....

I have gone through all the files with MP3s in them and changed them to better stuff, but still " three dog is playing the same old crappy songs.

I have downloaded mods for changing music but they do not rid the game of that old stuff. I want to use Pink Floyd, Sabbith, Rush and many other heavy songs....Please help Thanks

I am not that great at confusers so if instructions could be in simple language that would be cool

Thanks.

Hi,

the GNR-music is placed in:

gamedir\data\sound.bsa

the "sound.bsa"- file is packed and contains the following path to the GNR-music:

("sound.bsa") => \sound\songs\radio\licensed\(GNR-music)

You don`t need to extract that folder.

You`ll reach almost the same by "Archivinvalidation".

That means to play your music INSTEAD of the game music.

Original files stay as they are.

There are already such MODs at fallout3nexus and you have already used some of them. I don`t know which mod do you use, but it should be possible to customize that mod easily by replacing the included songs.

Some use additional Radio-Mods, e.g. to expand the repertoire.

Others work with pure Archivinvalidation.

Both methods are pretty similar.

If you want to customize a vanilla station (GNR, Radio Enclave, Agathas Radio), then you'll have to rename and convert your audio files.

BTW: GNR is the most complex radio station of the game

For GNR you have to create this folder-path \sound\songs\radio\licensed\

in the data-folder of the game

Now you need 3 file versions of every song you want to bring in:

1 mono wav

1 mono mp3

1 stereo mp3

Over all you are able to replace 20 songs in GNR with pure Archivinvalidation.

To get it full working you`ll need to convert and rename 3 x 20 -> 60 audiofiles.

remind: Every (stereo) MP3 needs a mono wave and a mono mp3.

! This means ONLY GNR ! Other Radiostations are simpler.

rename and convert your music in that way

The bit-rates and so on are suggested!

All these encoder settings are exactly the same as originally used.

And e.g. slightly different bit-rates should work too.

But the main thing is, that you use the same mono / stereo configurations.

Now you have to copy all files into the path:

gamedir -> data\sound\songs\radio\licensed\

Finally there are 2 ways to get them working:

1. by a little "modhelper" called ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated

2. by a textfile, that you have to place into the Dataordner.

If you are interested in, I`ll paste one

Hope that helpes you to get a little overview

my english is not that good :)
