I am really desperate.. I'm not new to using mods, had heavily modded fallout, oblivion, morrowind etc without problems.

I'll try to explain as clearly as possible:

 

 

Problem:

 

Bloody CTDs

 

- i am 90% certain they happen only in the exterior cell.

- they happen after ~1 minute in a specific save but they seem random with other saves

- the saves are do not seem bloated (~8mb)

- the CTDs do not seem to depend on location

 

What i did:

 

-Installed the mods one by one regularly checking if they work properly.

-Sorted them out with BOSS. Summary had no errors, only a few dirty files.

-Created merged and bashed patch.

-Verified integrity of game cache

-Wasted days trying to find the cause through google and experimentation, disabling mods one by one etc.

-Clean installing and many new games

-Messed with inis and configurations

-Checked papyrus logs ***

About the logs - tried disabling Deadly mutilation and burn freeze shock effects as they were the last ones "loading" in the papyrus logs, but then the logs just showed different plugins "loading" before the crash,

If you don't, do you use the Official High Resolution Texture Pack?

Got windows 64. Skyrim should use all of my 4gb after 1.3 patch, correct? Nope, no high res pack.

SkyTEST does not like large load orders. Try disabling it. If it solves your CTDs and your willing to be a guinea pig, post back here and I'll point you to some settings that may increase the stability of Papyrus heavy load orders.

 

Moonpath to Elswyr is known to cause issues ranging from CTDs to general strangeness all over Skyrim and it's generally suggested to only have it activated while you're actually playing it's questline.

 

If your Papyrus log is consistently showing the same error or sequence of events before the crash, it may lead you to an issue. Otherwise, it's just slowing down the Papyrus system which can decrease overall stability and I'd recommend disabling it completely.

 

If you've made any tweaks to the [Papyrus] section of Skyrim.ini, could you post that here?

It still crashes without SkyTEST and Moonpath with the same way.

Unfortunately yes, it doesn't seem that the log shows something specific.

 

 

No tweaks, just turned these to 1 in hopes that i will find something specific.

 

bEnableLogging=1
bEnableTrace=1
bLoadDebugInformation=1

 

A theory is that one or more of these plugins corrupts the game slowly leading to CTDs at some point.

As stated previously, disable logging also and see if that helps. (I'd like to know whether or not it helps as well so...).

 

My experimental tweaks are untested but may improve stability if the Papyrus System being overloaded is the source of your CTDs. Add/Alter the following lines under the [Papyrus] section of Skyrim.ini:

 

 

fUpdateBudgetMS=1.2
fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=1.2
 

1.2 Milliseconds are the default settings. Try bumping them up to 12 and if that helps, start tuning them down. These are delays where the game literally pauses for x milliseconds periodically to allow Papyrus CPU time. If 10x the default allotted time doesn't improve your stability then I think it' safe to rule this scenario out as a source of your CTDs and you should probably set them back to default. Higher numbers should increase stability in Papyrus intensive environments while having a small impact on the game's overall Performance. Lower numbers reduce the performance hit of the Papyrus VM while potentially decreasing stability.

I highly doubt you'll need a number over 3 milliseconds should this work for you, the 12 suggestion is just to make sure there's plenty of headroom. The Performance impact of 3MS should be completely negligible, 12 may or may not be noticeable. Again, disable logging for this test sequence as it can dramatically slow the Papyrus system if it's logging a ton of stuff.

I.... i think the problem is fixed! And on that seemingly corrupted save as well...!

How low did you tweak the delays back down to? Have you tried adding SkyTEST back in? If not, please do so. It's often recommended to drop SkyTEST with large load orders as it even states in that mods Description Page and Readme that it doesn't play well with lots of other Papyrus intensive things. If this does infact increase the stability of Mods like SkyTEST and WarZones I'd really like to know!
