JOESAN21
Hi all, have a quick question about a problem I am having. Was playing Oblivion fine this AM, loaded up with OBMM a new Companion mod, and then proceeded to play for about an hour more. Saved, turned off the game/computer--now when I hit OBSE to start up--the program immediately crashes after the intro screen. I assumed it was the CM file that I had uploaded--so I deactivated it--and poof--still crash. I deactivated the latest mods I had installed with OBMM, and it still will not load past the splash screen. I am completely confused what could have crashed the game. It was working find after loading the new mod, and worked fine for a while after. The program just now will not load up--and I cant figure out what the next step is. With OBMM there didnt seem to be any conflict with the CM file I loaded--and nothing gave a warning sign. So I am not sure if there is something that has completely crashed in the load file--and so needs to be replaced--or if I can fix something with OBSE or OBMM and fix the problem. any ideas? JOESAN21
Please disregard. I figured it out--was a file conflict--why I have no idea--I must have done something before--everything works well again
bben46
Be sure you are starting the game using a OBSE launcher or the OBSE launcher built into OBMM. If you are trying to start the game after removing a mod, especially one that something else depends on or that placed an object in the cell you start off in it will crash there also. For example, you stop playing in a cell with a fort. Then remove the mod that put the fort in the game. then restart the game and are in the same cell. To fix this, put the mod back, restart the game. move to somewhere safe - a cell where you know nothing will be changed if that mod is removed then save and quit. Now you can safely remove the mod(s) as long as you start in the safe cell the first time.
