SangRahl Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 I'm trying to create an energy weapon with "silent" detectability, and no visible beam ("CAUTION: Microwave Laser - That beam you can't see is cooking you."). However, choosing 'NONE' as the projectile means you get to eat through your ammo, but never actually fire a shot... Is there a way to make a "nonexistant" projectile? (Perhaps editing the alpha of a copy of the existing BeamLaserProjectile would do.. but I'm not sure where to start.)
SangRahl Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 Update: I've been able to figure out how to create a new Projectile type from scratch... The only thing missing is being able to create a 'clear' form of the laserbeamprojectile.nif... But working with Nifskope has only confused me more than I can imagine. I'm just happy that I was able to create a working port-over of the Laser Rifle, but sans any cosmetic changes beyond a new sound effect. (Still can't work out how to set up the new copied mesh to recgnize a different texture location... like I said, Nifskope is worse than 3rd-year latin.) But, the weapon is weildable, fireable, but only with a default beamlaserprojectile attached to it.
