Institutionalized Quest will not start, even with console commands

Howdy, all! SO I've been scouring the internet trying to find a solution, but I've come up with nothing. I'm hoping someone here can help.

So I recently started a new modded playthrough. Here is my loadout:

  Reveal hidden contents

Everything was working fine, no issues whatsoever... until I finished the quest The Molecular Level. I got zooped into the Institute, got the prompt telling me I completed TML, got the XP, and all that good stuff. I walked out of the teleporter, and heard Shaun/Father talk over the intercom. As per the usual, he tells me to get into the elevator... but the door never opens. More than that, the quest Institutionalized never began. I never got the prompt, it's not listed under the Data tab of my Pip-Boy, nothing. So, I look up the console command to force the quest:

  Quote
setstage 000229ec 10

Nothing happened. I reload my previous save form right before I zooped, and tried the command there. Nothing happened. Okay, so for science, I did the same setstage console command for another quest There Be Monsters Here or whatever it is. Nothing. Kid In The Fridge? Nothing. Not a single quest would activate. So for further science, I created a new profile in Vortex, with zero mods, and started a new game. As soon as I exited the Vault, I did the setstage command for Institutionalized.

Immediately populated in my quest list.

So obviously, it's something in my mod list that is doing this... but I have no idea what. I mean, and forgive my lack of technical knowledge, but it doesn't look like anything I'm running would in anyway effect vanilla quests. And again, every single quest up to this point has worked perfectly. Vanilla, DLC, all of them smooth as all getout.

Can anyone suggest anything? I mean, I assume the most practical thing to do would be to disable the mods one by one, starting a new game each time, and see at what point I can use the console to force quests again. But I really like these mods! LOL Also, I've checked the posts on each one, and none of them mention anything like this. Can it be just this specific combination of mods that is doing it?

Thanks so much for any advice. Stay awesome!

Hello. i have this problem, some times while playing the game with mods. i don't remember if i have this problem at any new game i start without using any mods. i think, after you talk to Shaun, try not to get close to the door, where behind it, is Father. Wait for the Father to open the door. Talk to Father and agree with him about having good will for institute. i don't remember -because sometimes, using mods- i open the door with ~ console command and unlock it. i don't remember what happens after, if the institutionalized quest, start -because i have to unlock some other doors, so i can explore the institute. i see that you don't use any mod add new content or change the institute or you use a mod, replace textures. Maybe the solution is to play the game at vanilla mode, start the institutionalized quest and after load any mods. Also try to update the game at the latest version if you don't do this at this time. Maybe after that, the problem stop. i hope i help. That's all. Thanks.

I actually figured out the problem. For some reason, that specific combination of mods derped the quest. I had to disable the Lupine Race mod, get the quest, then quit out, reactivate the mod, and it worked. Weird, I know. o_O
