velox1226
I've been thinking for a long time now that it would be pretty amazing if someone (or myself if I get around to learning level design) created quests and levels based off of the Baulder's Gate: Dark Alliance games. Most of the people I know who are avid rpg fans have almost always listed these games among their all-time favorites (next to the elder scrolls games, of course), and in my eyes they still represent the greatest classic rpg experience. I have been playing through them again recently and thought to myself: "Wouldn't this make a good fit in Skyrim?". I have been meaning to learn true modding for a long time now and may attempt to try this feat on my own, however I know I am not the only Dark Alliance fan out there and maybe one of you has just as much enthusiasm as I do to see what this would look like in the Skyrim universe. As far as creating it, the hardest part would simply be how time consuming I imagine it would be. The levels on their own could be matched easily to types in Skyrim, such as the first level with rats simply being done in an extensive tavern-cellar type area, the sewers done with dwarven ruin architecture, and even the crypt in act 1 also could be done as a nordic ruin. I imagine its even possible to get the audio data of the "quest givers" to use as part of this mod, and the rest would simply be changing enemy types to match skyrim enemies and then setting up the quests and boss encounters. Heck, one could even go as far as to make this completely seperate from the main skyrim world and set up the player to select 3 different characters modeled after the originals (you've got the elven sorceress, the "human[aka Nord]" archer, and the hardest would be the dwarven fighter). Or, you could just set up a new Tavern in White Run to spawn the quest line. Who knows, there's several ways it could be implimented, by the creation kit and Skyrim has everything you would need to get it accomplished, aside from it of course not being lore-friendly (unless you force it to be so). What do you all think? Do you think it would be worth to in essence make an Elder-Scrolls version of the Dark Alliance games, or am I the only fan out there avid enough to even think of asking someone to try this?
