DocHolliday19
Ok so i just downloaded the Fallout 3 mod pack and have got to a few mods to work by anything that requires editing the ArchieveInvalidation file isnt working for me. For example i do exactly what it says for the BABE mod. http://www.fileplanet.com/196117/190000/fi...ment--BABE--mod I edited the binvalidateolderfiles file from 0 to 1.I extracted the file to the data folder.I created a ArchiveInvalidation file.I copied the lines of text from the readme to the ArchiveInvalidation folder. I got into the game and nothings changed. I have been reading all over the place and trying to get it to work for hours now. Also, heres what shows up for a hair mod that i thought i did correctly aswell. http://img134.imageshack.us/my.php?image=wtfit6.jpg Can ANYONE tell me what i am doing wrong and what i need to do? Thanks
PimpBot420
You don't need to create a folder, you need to create a file named ArchiveInvalidation.txt in your Fallout 3 directory with the relevant lines of text inside that TXT file.

PimpBot420
A couple things to check for: ArchiveInvalidation.txt should be in the "Fallout 3" folder. The Fallout.ini file that was changed (for bInvalidateOlderFiles) was in your ...\My Documents\My Games\Fallout3 folder, and not the ini file in your Fallout 3 main directory. (There are 2 Fallout.ini files, only one should be edited.)The lines in your ArchiveInvalidation.txt file use the "/" as opposed to the "\" used in normal directory paths. If all else fails, I'd recommend downloading ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated! and not deal with editing the TXT file. Or even better, try downloading Fallout Mod Manager, which uses ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated! as well. Hope this helps.
DocHolliday19
If i add a new texture mod do i need to add the text to the ArchiveInvalidation.txt? Or do i just extract to data and be done with it?
Baelkin
If i add a new texture mod do i need to add the text to the ArchiveInvalidation.txt? Or do i just extract to data and be done with it? If it's a texture replacement mod without associated models (ie. there is no "meshes" folder in the Data folder of the mod archive), you'll most likely have to add the lines to the text file for them to work. Try what the above poster suggests first though, constantly having to alter the ArchiveInvalidation.txt is a PITA at length and it gets old fast if you use a lot of mods. :)
redshift1979
That Babe mod gives me a headache. It's the only one of those I've downloaded I haven't got to work yet. I thought that maybe the recent game update had something to do with it but I can't be sure. Whatever the case is...I can't get it to work and I'm near giving up on it and sending it to the recycle bin.

I don't even need to get the mod or try to test it to tell you I know exactly what the problem is: This is the exact reasopn why it's highly important people say WHAT VERSION OF THE GAME THEY BUILT THE MOD WITH.
