Unanswered mod request?

I like to play with a fun old mod called Low Intelligence Roleplay by senterpat. It's chalk full of ITMs though, so I cleaned it so I could use it with The Frontier mod.

 

I'd like to post it, giving him all the credits, but when I asked for his permission there's been no response. Also his account has been inactive for nearly a year.

 

How should I proceed?

Looking at the mod in question, I can see that it requires the authors permission before anything is done with the mod.

 

Since their absence means you cannot get their permission, I'm afraid you'll have to shelve any plans for releasing your updated/cleaned version.

Wait... I found this on his "about me" profile page:

 

Before you ask, yes, you can use my mod as a resource for whatever. I reserve the right to use whatever you do with it if I want tho :tongue:

Mods should all be open source, that's the best way for us to make the best possible mods! Keep that in mind if you release a mod

So is that sufficient?

I am not Staff or a Moderator, so please wait for one of them to reply before publishing.

 

However, to spare you delaying work while waiting on an official reply, the answer should be "yes, it's okay" as long as you point to that permission in your mod's description and give credit to the original author. The "permissions" section was added after many mods were originally published and Nexus used an "all rights reserved" policy by default for that section. Granting such permission in their profile was a clever but unusual step by an author.

 

Hopefully Staff will eventually edit the permissions page to reflect it (in their copious spare time). :pirate:
