guilt complex over Morag Tong quests

I think I may have been playing morrowind for too long, or maybe its only because I have been awake for nearly 36 hours......

I am working on the Morag Tong quests, and I haven't had any trouble so far, but Guril Retheran asks you to spare him.. and I can't kill him. I actually killed him, and then re-loaded an old save game cuz I felt so guilty about it. The dialogue doesn't give you any other options (you can't choose to let him run away, then lie to Eno Hlaalu or anything like that)

So, is there a way I can move on with Morag Tong quests, without killing this guy?

Do I hear sympathy?

You are carrying out an Honourable Writ so he must have done something very naughty, like getting up the nostrils of the Telvanni or something.

Are you on PC or xbox? I expect you can complete the quest by console, though you need to ask someone else for the command. AFAIK otherwise you can only get new writs after you have done the old.

Get yourself a 'Frenzy Humanoid' spell 100, zero area. That way they attack you and you have no nasty aftermath. It's very useful in Mournhold too if you have Tribunal and want to do the 'Warlords' quest.

However if you get the threads of the webspinner you can reach a high enough level to do 'special duties'. The completion of the special duies and webspinner may give you enough to reach the top without having to do any more writs. Again, someone else may know.

But if you feel sorry for Guril, I fear you are going to have problems with the poor NPCs who have the webspinner items.

Just think:this person must have been a total swine to get a contract on him.Kill him. Kill him slowly.in fact, beat him up, leave him for a day then kill him.

Anyway, leave it for a bit then go do assasinations again, like the good serial killer you are.

No one deserves to die a cold death like that and just because he did something bad doesn't mean that he can't be forgiven.... that is if he's sorry.

Having thought about it I suddenly remembered that he has one of the Threads of the Webspinner. As these are all in the hands of Daedra Worshippers, Assassins and Dark Brotherhood members -kill him!
