Haito13
I posted something about replacing combat armors with more modern tactical gear, like what we see in modern infantry and swat nowadays, I actually re-did the model I was working on back then. Questions: 1. Does fallout3 use the same mannequin found on Oblivion? 2. Any news with a proper I/O script for max? (niftools) Im willing to wait for the tools, but i want to make sure It's alright to use oblivions manequinn

SpeedyB64
If you mean the body and bones than they are totally different. There is a fallout skeleton in the resource section of the site ready for import into a 3d program (the one in the game files will not work right if imported)
Haito13
Thanks for the replies. In my 1st question I was referring to the mannequin as a reference for armor part placement, size comparison etc. With my 2nd question, I'm basically asking, if someone's addressing the current limitations of NIFtools, so we won't need work arounds which I think are incredibly complex. I'm willing to wait for the next version of Niftools. Just want to make sure that the models Im working on are ready and won't need too many tweaks when the tools do arrive. SpeedyB64
Just load up the body for the game. Extract it out of the game files and import it.

Haito13
Just load up the body for the game. Extract it out of the game files and import it. I'll post a pic, explains things better. This guys been sitting in my desktop for at least 3 weeks now (he's not the only thing Im working on at the moment). I'm only asking this because honestly I get easily confused when modding two separate games. I only start reading tutorials when the model is ready for importing into the game, prevents nosebleeds from happening  ...Ahh what the hell i'll do what you just mentioned. http://xs135.xs.to/xs135/09052/base_copy252.jpgBase model with out tac gear Well sarge, I haven't thought that far ahead yet. I'll probably check references for battle worn gear (got any? ). At the moment I'm looking at an Airborne commando, a Recon marine, and some screenies I got from R6 Vegas 2. I do hope i can get this together and will probably include their UV in the rar.
SgtRoadkill
well i jus tmean to make sure they aren't pristine http://www.defendamerica.mil/images/photos/feb2006/photoessays/pi022706a1.jpg http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/070I3P37M2fKW/610x.jpg http://www.arcent.army.mil/cflcc_today/2008/february/images/feb05_08/06_06.jpg those are modern kit sbut its worth looking at how muddy troops in vietnam are often pictured and i think that situation is closer to the wastelands thant the above it might also be worhty thinking about mixing camo scheme because this tends to hapepn with troops scavanging kit or just grabing kit together, i imagine in the wates of a nucleur holacaust it would be similar
Haito13
I totally agree with the Nam sarge  Any way BDU's rarely look pristine (specially deset camo's), I'll most likely fade the camo, add some tears and mud here and there. If you don't mind me asking, are you in the army sarge? Cause i want to know why these new BDU's look puffy in the arms (or do all soldiers have huge biceps  ). I'm a reservist and have never seen anyone wearing a BDU with puffy arms, in my country at least. These are great pics BTW.
SgtRoadkill
haha no i am not in the services got a couple of mates who are on base at Aldershot in the UK. the closest i get is digging up 1st world war military camps. and regards to puffy arms i think its because they have loose sleeves but in some case they velcro the cuffs tighter, like the (i think) officer at the front of the first pic with his arm up. of course this depends on the uniform and if your big chap or lass their arms will likely fill ea thte unfiroms more (and of course you can roll them up maybe stuff a pack of cigerettes in there etc)
