charwo
I know that Fallout has some skitzo tech problems in that the tech paradigm is bonkers, but given roughly the level of technology circa 2077 and perhaps beyond i post war bunkers, what kind of technologies would fit in the Fallout universe? I've been playing Mass effect, and while the computerized guns with thermal clips are out, the brain implant tech was shown clearly in Fallout 2 similar in principle to the Prothean Beacon. Even without eezo access, the prevalence of cheap compact nuclear power would allow a brute force version of the Mako. I'd say the Pipboy is already a cross between an Ipad with a mount and an Omni-tool. The Pre war era had a non post-scarcity version of replicators and gene technology. I wish the Crimson Dragoons in Anchorage were artificially augmented with arm weapons like the protagonist in Human Revolution, it was a missed opportunity in my opinion. I think ADAM is too batshit for even Fallout's zaniest moments but I could be wrong. What do you think? What tech would fit in Fallout's technological paradigm that wasn't put in? Other than just about all the logical things from Fallout 1 and 2 that 3 didn't have.
awesomelad777
Seen as fallout is based of a post nuclear war from the 1960, so your looking at technology from around that time but the technology will be a little more advanced than the 1960's technology. But if I had to tell you a game with similar technology, as much as I hate to say this I would say black ops 1 because that is based in the 60's so if your planning on making a weapons pack you know what sort of weapons to be looking at
charwo
But Fallout has nothing close to 1960s technology. Its technology based on World of Tomorrow thinking of the extended 50s, but in some ways its more advanced than even mass effect: the pre-war had power that was too cheap to meter and crude replicators as seen explicitly in Dead Money. On the weapons front the only thing Mass Effect has that's better is a flame thrower system based on power cells, not on a gas tank.
awesomelad777
Fallout is based in 2077 so that's over 100 years of developing from this 1960s technology so yeah it will seem quite advanced but you need to go for the 60s look things like take notice in the detail on environment, how megatron is built, the interiors In buildings, even the state on standard weapons except energy weapons, they're all improvements of 60's weapons ignore anyother mod I'm on about the base game theme it's took a very 60's appeal to it. charwo
But you can have future tech, any future tech with a 60s kitsch. The important thing about Fallout is that it LOOKS like the long 50s. But it's nothing of the type. Much like Caesar's Legion looks like the Roman Empire but its nothing like.
