MastaBlade
Hey there, I am having a little trouble with scripting. I was noticing enchanting when browsing through the TES construction set, and I noticed I could put in script effects onto a weapon (or so I thought). I thought it would be pretty cool to put the convulsive combustion effect from deadly reflexes on my weapon and have it apply every strike (overpowered I know, but I just wanted to try it). So I put it on and started the game. It said the enchant was on my blade, but when I hit a person, nothing happened. I continued to tweak the enchant to get it to work, but to no avail. Please could someone explain how to enchant a script effect onto a weapon (if possible). Thanks in advance :thanks:

First, the script probably has components which only work when the rest of DR is present. If you made the weapon in a seperate .esp, the script will not work, and may even break DR. The weapon needs to be made within DR for you to use any DR script. Second, the script is probably not configured to work as an enchantment on a weapon. Scripted spell effects only use certain, specific blocktypes. Additional conditions or functions with this script might also disable anything other than intended uses for the script, out of safety. MastaBlade
I see. I suspected something along those lines. First of all, thanks for the swift reply. I did have the weapon in another esp, so I will try to fix that first and see what happens. Yet is there anything I can do to configure the properties of a script to make it enchant friendly if this option doesn't work (I understand that will probably take some in-depth scripting, but I am willing to give it a shot). *Edit*Tried the first option and had some success :). I can now get the death effect of the script without the animation (which is part of what I was going for). I now see that it would be pretty hard to be able to enchant the entire script effect onto my blade (such as the whole decapitation process). If anyone does have a easy method of doing this, I would appreciate. And to Vagrant, thanks a lot for the help.
