First Large Scale Mod

Now we have seen some amazing mods for Fallout 3 in the past few months. But how would you like to see a large scale mod? Now we could all combine our talent and make a spectacular mod together. Now Fallout 3 introduced some new things to the engine which allows many more opportunities such as; drinking from lakes, guns, better graphics, weapon building, and many many more. Now to the mod idea, a lot of people know and love the hit t.v show Man Vs Wild. How about a mod based on it? We could try and get permission to use the collectible water mod, so we can use a water bottle sort of thing. And I 3d model in 3ds max and Maya so I could make a lot of custom models for the mod. We could also make varying landscapes and add an optional story, this way we can have quests to survive in different areas. And we might not be able to make it 100% accurate to the show but we can try. And if this comes through we will have made the first big mod for Fallout 3 and make Fallout 3 history!

There are couple large scale mods already in the making.

Those projects are always recruiting. So if you have skills, but no clear idea/concept of a mod in mind, I would recommend that you join some of the projects above. That way, the community might get few large scale projects done, instead of dozen of large scale projects that never see the light of day.

 

Ofc you are free to start your own projects, but I urge you to read this before starting. Leading a project can be quite hard work sometimes.

 

BTW, it would be great to get this forum a sticky where all these large scale mods are listed.

GTS (Global Traveling System) http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3157 Basically allows the player to travel outside of the Capital Wasteland into brand new, entire "regions" (which will eventually be made by other modders). It is the first mod of its kind to "open the door" to the Fallout 3 universe to modders, particularly mappers, to "think beyond" the Capital Wasteland, and create new regions (yep, big ol' maps) in America (or on a World map) that reflect a post-apocalyptic environment. Definitely for Fallout 1 and 2 fans, because this mod produces such a travel system.

The best way for you to Make a large scale mod like that would be to ether join a Project like Veliv Sujests.

 

But if you think you can handle it start your own Project which is hard to do because you have to be able to communicate well enof to the rest of the team, and have a lot of time to Donate to your Project, also its hard to find skilled enof people out there that can do what needs to be done for it.

If you do start your own Project make sure you know some skilled enof poeple that will join your project otherwise you will spend time training the rest of your team but this is inhairent of almost all projects.

 

Any way your best bet would be to join a Project team and build up some skill.
