sumoftwosins
My mod is getting extremely close to the Phase 2 release. Phase 1 was the beta test with just the new level, semi-mindless npc's, and the new items. Phase 2 includes all the dialog, the main quest, perks, and new combat activators. In short, this is going to be the primary release. I do have a 3rd phase planned that will implement the merc contracts, money / staff system, and the freelance mode. Before I can push this expansion into the public, I really need to get it tested. That's where you guys/gals come in. This will be a controlled release with specific testing requirements to root out any complications. I can't do this without assistance since I am only a one man mod team. This is what I will specifically need from you if you want to test this mod. Fresh TestNo other mods and you start from the beginning of the game. Run through the "Combat Currency" quest. Before starting the quest, you'll need to travel to the locations that the special characters are at to see how they behave. There is certain dialog that unlocks after the quest has started. I need to make sure the NPC's do their own thing until you unlock that stage of dialog. Conflict TestLoad up your mods one by one or in batches. Run through the same stuff as the Fresh test and so forth, but with your extra mods. Save Game TestPlay through the mod's quest using existing save games. Free-For-All TestDo whatever you want, attack the new people... etc. If you haven't ran into issues with the other tests, then try to get it to fail. -----------------------------------What I need to determine: Other than finding out if the mod works, I need to know if the quest is playable. Meaning that nothing happens that prevents you from completing the quest - whether it be faulty dialog or the characters are DOA for some reason. With the new combat triggers, I need to know if the enemies are 1. still weak, 2. perfectly difficult, 3. way to powerful. I guess just anything that needs to be tweaked or altered prior to the actual release. General feedback is good to, opinion based or other. Did the quest entertain? Did exploring the new base and story make a positive improvement to the game? -----------------------------------Known Issues: I do not know of specific and isolated issues. From the beta test people mentioned problems, but no one emailed me information about the mods they were running... regardless, here are the issues: 1. Several people stated that the new characters were hostile to them right off the bat. This might have to do with mods that might add you to standard enemy factions... such as Talon. 2. Random game freezing... it is a bit vague. The base is located west of Paradise falls, so I assume if you something that effects that area or have a save game in that area... that would cause the problems. 2a. One person said that their game would freeze specifically when they started any new quest after having visited the base. -----------------------------------Additional Info: To get the quest rolling and so forth - Head to the new location and save Blain. Everything flows from that. To gain access to all the areas of the base, check out the terminal in the Admin area. MERC - Official WebsiteMERC - Concept & Info ThreadNexus Files - Merc Beta Release ----------------------------------- If you want to be apart of the pre-release test, PM or email me - [email protected] Right now I'm putting it through a test run and will hopefully have it ready for the pre-release test tomorrow night or Sunday. Thank you for your help!
