Commonwealth Power Grid Immersion

Something that would be totally cool is to take the idea behind Angeplay's powerlines mod (some settlements have connection to what is left of the prewar power grid), combine it with Fallout 76's idea of bringing power plants back online to restore Appalachia power into something to be used in the Commonwealth.

Its a lore friendly idea, mainly because Father himself in the institute prior to their reactor being activated stated they have sometimes had to tap the power grid above ground. There are places like near the National Guard Training Center and elsewhere where power lines are sparking, some areas outdoors have fusion generators hooked up to substations, that and so many lights on in indoor cells.

It could be cool to do a quest chain where you bring a power plant back online (for example the damaged reactors near the National Guard Training Center) or the one in Nattick, and perhaps recruiting some Linemen (or ability to repair lines that are in the active map) which would grant you in some settlements outside power, and more lights throughout the world turned on. (Think the traffic lights in intersections flashing yellow or red, more street lamps on, etc.)

I have also always thought about this and hoped for a mod to pop up.

In the meantime, Sim Settlements 2 allows you to restart a plutonium well and restore power to one specific town and Zorkaz/El Ha has a mod that allows you to restart hydroelectric power generators which adds workshop power to a few of the nearest settlements.

(Same concept but for restoring mains water to locations.)

Connect settlement power lines to the power grid in locations that have power/lights in vanilla;

I've used the below mods, they're just a bit incomplete though, commonwealth wide.

Most street lights around the commonwealth are intact, and could be 'lit' by activating some sort of power grid, the traffic lights could cycle between red/yellow/green, there is a Fallout 3 and Fallout NV mod that does this, you could take it alot of places to bring electricity back to the commonwealth.

I know Horizon integrates some similar idea into it. You have to have unlocked specific resources (such as oil wells) before you can build specific assets. Another idea is the mod "Turn on the Water Dams".
